One Week Old

And it only took her that long to realize that nights are for sleeping! I forgot how "fun" it is getting on a sleep schedule. The first few nights home I only got about 2 hours of sleep a night because Olivia was awake all evening. Not only was she awake but she also wanted to nurse frequently. Last night was the first night she actually slept in intervals of hours at a time.

James was born at 38 weeks and 2 days. Olivia came at 38 weeks 3 days. Nice to see my body is consistant. Friday the 5th I had an OB appointment where I was told that I was already 3-4 cm dilated. As the day progressed I was feeling funny-and not sure if what I was feeling were contractions or not. I started timing them around 6 pm and by 7:30-8 they were consistantly 5-7 minutes apart and about a minute long. I called the doctor and was told to go into the hospital. I had to pack my bag and get things together because I was unprepared. And of course the weather was terrible! The day before all the remaining snow had melted and as we packed and loaded the car it was snowing and the roads were covered and icy. After dropping James at my parent's house we got to the hospital around 9:45pm.

Will continue next post....

WHAT? A cliff hanger, haha. Anxious to hear the next part of the birth story. Hugs (Peg)
