Yikes...

How embarrassing for her. Better brush up on politics.

I have to admit that I don't remember what the Bush Doctrine is, either. Hell, I don't even remember what the Monroe Doctrine was. (That's what the web is for -- so I can look it up!) Of course, I'm not in the business of politics, nor am I running for vice-president. The McCain campaign knows they're dealing with a rookie governor; they should've done a better job of prepping her before her first big interview.

You've pretty much said what I think of it.

Is that really common knowledge? Is everyone supposed to know what that is?

No-not common knowledge unless you're into politics and history. But if you are running for VP with the chance of possibly being President if something unfortunate should happen, shouldn't you be aware of this kind of thing? Especially with the situation in Iraq?

I thought Charlie Gibson was very condescending throughout this interview. The way he looked down on her over the top of his glasses, almost professorial, was very rude. And he was asking her about Bush Doctrine 3, when we're really on number 4...so he was misinformed. She was simply asking for clarification as to what Gibson was asking.

Notice how distrustful of her answers Gibson was? Why was his interview with Barack Obama so pop-culture like? He didn't slam Obama the way he did Palin.

I don't want to believe that the media is biased, but the very deliberate cut-editing ABC did, and the tone Gibson uses shows me that the media has their own agenda.

(For the record I voted for Barack Obama in my state's primary -- and I'm a Republican. It still makes me sick the way the media sways things).

It seems to me that they were ready to hit her with that specific question. I guess that destroys my theory that the one being interviewed is always brief beforehand. I wonder if they exchanged any words off camera afterwards.

It was highly editd. I read the original transcripts and it was nothing like it aired. I hate that.
