Starbucks Everywhere

http://www.starbuckseverywhere.net/

There is a guy who's been traveling around trying to visit all Starbucks coffee houses. He goes by the name of Winter.

(This photo is copyright of Winter & his website)

I think it's kind of neat what he is doing...but at the same time, Starbucks is always expanding and growing, will he ever visit ALL of them? What is the point? But then again, how many people can say they have visited xx,xxx Starbucks? I can't, can you? I think I've been to 12 different locations. I suppose I am just jealous...wishing I could drive across the world stopping only to drink coffee, take in the scenery, and chat with people everywhere. How fun would that be?

I used to be anti-Starbucks. I am in favor for the privately owned businesses as opposed to the huge crushing chains...there are a ton of coffeehouses I adore including, "Java Temple" "Spot Coffee" "Taste". (I still love Spot, Java Temple is no more, and I still frequent Taste) I once signed petitions saying, "No Starbucks! I support my local coffeehouses" and the other popular one "F$!K Starbucks". However, where I live, work, and play...there are few to none, non-chain coffeehouses and I was forced (someone held my mouth open while someone else poured the libations down my gullet) to drink Starbucks. And ya know what? I AM ADDICTED! I LOVE IT! I could drink it everyday!

My new favorite is the green tea frappuccino (no whip cream). At first I didn't know if I liked it or not...but I do. I know, I know...what a hypocrite! What a sell-out! *sigh* Starbucks strikes again.

Starbucks is pretty darn good. It is a shame, however, that there aren't more independent coffeehouses with their own personalities. I guess they've gone the way of every small business that tries to compete with big chains. My BF is so addicted to Starbucks that he has actually included listing Starbucks' locations as part of his mapping criteria when he does a mapquest for a trip. He has to know where all the Starbucks are!

And ya...green tea fraps are delicious!
